My name is Leah Strader, the creator of this website. My dad was a part of the military for six years of his life and ours, so I experienced a lot of moving around in my childhood. I first lived in Arizona for six years, moving to five full different houses within those years. Then I moved to Texas and stayed in one home there for three more years. Finally, I moved to Washington and I've lived here ever since.
I'm an extrovert and very much of a people person, so I've never struggled with getting to know people in new places. While I am very grateful for this, I also struggle with leaving behind people I know and places I love. With this combination, moving has been both a positive and a negative thing for me, but overall has helped me to grow to become the person I am today.
I believe this topic is important to research and report on because I know moving is something that impacts almost everybody at some point in their lives. Whether it is you moving away or someone else, someone will move away in almost every individual's life. Learning how to meet new people, explore new places, and find a new home is crucial for growing up and developing.
