Back in the 1990s, the internet was barely beginning to form into what we know it as today. The 80s were famous for their production of 8-bit technology, and the early 2000s were known mainly for their PCs and the late 2000 production of the first iPhone. But what were the 90s known for? The World Wide Web was a Website design and building was extremely important to the community. It originated from a British scientist named Tim Berners-Lee, who created it with the intention of science. His goal was to make it easier for scientists to share information and discoveries that could benefit the globe. The World Wide Web, or W3, was then published by 1992 for thousands of users to explore. (Malm, 2025)

Many teenagers across the globe used the World Wide Web to express themselves and their identity, which is why the 90s are usually known for being unusual, colorful, and bright. Adolescentes would use different images, Gifs, titles, topics, and color schemes in order to convey their message or who they were.
